At Relocation Belgium, we believe that bringing people together to exchange ideas is one of the most valuable investments we can make. That belief came to life during our second Lunch & Learn event, Turning Cultural Variations into Assets, held in the intimate setting of our recently renewed Ghent office. Inspired by the theme of cultural diversity and its impact on international teams, the event brought together HR professionals and mobility experts for an engaging afternoon of learning and discussion.
We were delighted to welcome participants from organizations including Legend Biotech, UGent, and BASF, who joined us to explore how cultural differences can become powerful assets rather than barriers within the workplace. The intimate atmosphere created the perfect environment for open conversations, shared experiences, and meaningful connections. Rather than a formal seminar, the event felt more like a gathering of peers, exchanging insights and practical perspectives around a topic that continues to shape the modern workplace.
A special thank you goes to Elizabeth Kelly, who expertly guided the session as both moderator and trainer. With her engaging style, vivid examples, and tons of experience, Elizabeth encouraged participants to reflect on their own cultural assumptions and discover new ways of collaboration in diverse teams. The discussions that followed were lively, honest, and full of valuable insights, demonstrating just how relevant this topic is for organizations welcoming international talent.
To stay true to the multicultural spirit of the event, we treated our guests to a delicious lunch from Ghent-based restaurant Knees to Chin, known for its Asian-inspired cuisine mixed with Belgian classics such as meatloaf with red cabbage, proving that combining different cultures can be added value.
As the event concluded, one thing became clear: cultural diversity is not simply a challenge to navigate, but an opportunity to embrace. By creating space for dialogue and learning, organizations can unlock the strengths that diverse perspectives bring to their teams.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and we hope they enjoyed this inspiring lunch, filled with knowledge-sharing, meaningful conversations, and new connections.
We are already looking forward to welcoming you to our next Lunch & Learn session.
Because when cultural variations are understood and appreciated, they truly become assets.
